Teaching

"Let the sun stop shining, and we will preach in darkness. Let the waves stop their ebb and flow, and still, our voice shall preach the gospel." Charles Spurgeon

Shea's drive lies in spreading her zeal for Jesus, and she is humbled by every opportunity to be a messenger in bringing the gospel to women of all seasons of life! She approaches mentoring others in the teachings of God's inspired scripture with authenticity and excitement!  There is nothing she would rather do than speak Jesus over others.

She may be available to speak at your next event.  For inquiry, you may reach out through our contact tab below.

Mind the Gap

Main Scriptures: Romans 5:3-5

Life is often lived in the space between God's promises and their fulfillment. In this encouraging message, we'll explore how God works powerfully in the "gap", the seasons of waiting, uncertainty, and growth. Through Scripture and personal stories, discover how hope, trust, honesty, faithfulness, patience, and sisterhood help us walk with God in the in-between. Because the gap isn't wasted space. The gap is holy ground where God is forming Christlikeness within us.

Dressed for This

Main Scriptures: Proverbs 31:25

What if the strength you've been searching for is already yours in Christ? In this encouraging message, discover how God clothes His daughters with strength and dignity, invites them to run to Him as their refuge, fills them with His Spirit's power, and calls them to live boldly from a place of victory. You don't have to strive for what God has already provided. You were dressed for this.

Relentless Apprentice

Main Scriptures: John 12:26

It's inevitable, that others will recognize if you have been with Jesus. It's important to be intentional and all-encompassing when living as Jesus' disciples. Truly being a disciple of Jesus Christ means being His apprentice- serving Him while actively learning and implementing the trade of ministering through the gospel. Shea will encourage you through scriptures on the great need of apprenticeship and provide you will two extraordinary results of modeling your life after Jesus.

Fan the Flames

Main Scriptures: 2 Timothy 1:6–12

God has placed a holy flame within every believer and it’s a gift fueled by the power of the Holy Spirit and intended to shine brightly for His glory. In this message, we'll explore how to fan that flame through His presence, His Word, courageous faith, and wholehearted surrender. As daughters of God, we are called to live unashamed of the gospel, endure faithfully through trials, and carry the fire of Christ into a world desperate for hope.

 His Love Rewrote My Story

Main Scriptures: 1 John 4:9-10
Shea shares what happens when God’s love steps into our mess. No matter where we’ve been or what we’ve done, His love has the power to change everything. Jesus doesn’t just patch up the broken parts—He gives us a brand-new story filled with grace, hope, and purpose.

About Shea

Shea, a native of southern Tennessee, is a pastor’s wife, mom, and founder of Just Breathe Ministries. She has been walking with Jesus since the age of 22 and has a passion for helping women encounter the life-changing love of Christ. Her family is committed to church revitalization, and her personal story is one of rescue and redemption. She shares her message of transformation-being brought from death to life-with the hope that others will encounter Him too.

Shea and her husband, Chris, live in Athens, Alabama, where they’re raising their daughters, Sophya and Raegan, and their son, Oliver, who joined their family through adoption. Shea advocates for her son, who has dwarfism, celebrating God’s unique design in every person. Whether writing, teaching, advocating, or sipping an iced latte on a Jeep ride, Shea lives by the words of Paul: “I believed, therefore I spoke.”

Family

Left to Right;

Raegan, Chris, Oliver, Shea. and Sophya.

“If therefore our houses be houses of the Lord, we shall for that reason love home, reckoning our daily devotion the sweetest of our daily delights; and our family-worship the most valuable of our family-comforts... A church in the house will be a good legacy, nay, it will be a good inheritance, to be left to your children after you.”

― Matthew Henry

A Message from Shea

In 2018, I found myself lying prostrate on my bedroom floor, tears streaming down my face, pleading with God to relieve this quiet, reserved, and insecure girl of the daunting calling to speak the gospel to a congregation of women. To my dismay, God didn’t take away this calling. Instead, He equipped me for it. The equipping is nothing of myself but everything extraordinarily His. It’s a mystery why He would use a wretch like me. I have to laugh at the truth that I’m not a fluent speaker, nor do I use big fancy words. I'm not a seminary graduate, and my Southern accent is far from a sophisticated teacher voice. I'm a writer without formal training, not author material. I've spent more of my lifetime entangled in a sinful world than as a believer in Jesus Christ. My faith resume is far from polished, but the record of God's faithfulness in my life exceeds anything that can be captured on paper.

Standing before a group of women to speak the truth of Jesus Christ absolutely terrifies me, but it pales in comparison to the deep importance I place on sharing His message. My fear is no longer about making mistakes; it stems from a deep, passionate concern for others to hear and know His truth. I could easily step back and let someone else take on this role because God doesn’t need me- He simply wants me. He desires me to be at the center of His will, doing what He knows is best for His namesake.

Jeremiah says it best, speaking from a place I know well, “Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, Nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word was in my heart like a burning fire Shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, And I could not.” (Jeremiah 20:9 NKJV) And so, I have this fire that won’t let go, and honestly, I don’t want it to.

I may never wake up and say, "I’m living the dream." In fact, I often look in the mirror and ask myself, “Shea, what are you doing?” But I will always rise with the conviction that He alone is worth giving up all the things of the world to fulfill His eternal purpose. He alone is the drive to die to myself over and over again so Shea doesn’t live in the ways of self focus. If He is inviting me to be a part of His grander plan, how could I possibly say no? My knees may tremble, and a flush of nerves might wash over me from head to toe, but I am forever committed to the One, to speak about my Savior, in humility and reverence all the days of my life.

How about you? Will you join me in embracing His calling?
